I kept on trimming slowly until the cowl halves fitted nicely. Thanks to Doc for pointing out that the lower cowl underlap at the outer walls of the intakes get cut away (just ahead of the 'tabs') ... I was racking my brain why this area wouldn't sit properly. I also trimmed out the intake scoop belly hole ... I wanted to de-stress the entire cowl as much as possible before matching the cooling intake areas.
It's a messy job, but a whole lot worse when you cut yourself on the sharp fibreglass.
