Just because I love sanding so much, I decided to block the whole HS with 600 grit ready for the clear coats. I thought could avoid cutting through ... and for the most part I was right, but I will need to airbrush colour back onto few minor spots :-)
I've also decided to radius the tip of each red bands (at the inboard end to better match the black radius around the leading edge), so those will need careful sanding and line marking as well.
I've learned several lessons about fine lining, masking and painting the HS that will set me up well for the control surfaces and wings.
