I smoothed off the slight overspray on the final basecoat and applied the vinyl mask checkers. It took a long time to get the squares lined up perfectly, but apart from discovering the vinyl mask squares were actually 150 mm x 149 mm, it worked out pretty well. I then Prepsol'd the exposed areas and shot a coat of black base. Next I'll remove all the vinyl mask and shoot the first coat of clear.
