I sanded back the epoxy & Aerosil ready for primer. There was sufficient carbon fibre thickness to countersink the shop heads on the soft rivets, so I used universal rivets to secure the hinges. Then I applied a liberal coat of 2K primer to fill most of the pin holes along the new edge.
