I shaped and drilled the front sections of hinge, set them in a bed of epoxy & Aerosil, smoothed off the edges and spread the excess around the carbon flange to fill the pin holes. When that sets, I'll soft rivet the hinges in place to ensure they don't separate under harsh vibration.
The bolts will be replaced with clevis pins and removable clips so I can remove the hinged section if necessary for clearer maintenance access. I think, if I am lucky, that I will be able to change the oil through this access panel without removing the bottom cowl ... wouldn't that be handy !!
