I scuffed the carbon fibre inside the front lip of the upper cowl using the orbital sander, then wet down a layer of 400 gsm carbon twill weave to stiffen the area. This will prevent the upper cowl flexing and catching the breeze at the front. This area requires stiffening, smoothing and priming to final size before I can match-mold the support lip beneth it (which is fixed to the the lower cowl inlets). I prized one side up slightly with popsicle sticks while it set to ensure proper alignment with the lower cowl.
