I used the offcut of stater cable to make the ground return to the firewall. I polished the surfaces, applied a light coat of silicone grease and sandwiched the terminal between two brass washers on one of the engine mounting ear bolts. I'm using old magnetos as a placeholder for clearance checking (no point in re-assembling the main mags and starting their calendar life before I'm ready to run the engine).
