Brief Description:  Moved kit from Canberra to Lapstone

Moved kit # 106 from Canberra to Lapstone

What a long day. Got to be about midnight on 24 April after discovering that my truck to trailer lights adapter was the wrong gender. Bought the right one, then discovered the reversing lights came on with the parkers. Disconnected the reversing light wire and all seemed OK. Collected Tony at 0600 the next morning and drove three hours to Canberra, initially to collect goods for someone else, then to collect the kit. After lifting and inspecting the engine, we packed from about 1300 to 1930, then had dinner with our friends Lou and Beth. On leaving, we discovered the tail lights weren't working and eventually realised that the truck had a 24 volt system. It was already too late to buy 24V bulbs, so we tried to wire in a 12V globe in the earth return line, but there were so many earths on my trailer that we couldn't even get that to work. In the end, we stole the 24V globes from the truck taillights (which were obscured by the trailer anyway) and drove 3 hours back to Sydney, arriving at 0200. Another 2.5 hours passed by while we unloaded, so we hit the sack at about 0430. Up again at 0730 to return the truck, Tony to his family and the removal blankets to the hire shop before buying some steel for a new 9 foot workbench. By the time I got home again, it was 1200, only an hour before my commitment to fill in for a friend to play 4 sets of tennis rather than let their team forfeit ! Wow, I was totally knackered by the time I got back to bed.
