Riveted stiffeners to elevator and rudder skins
Applied a thin weave of RTV to each stiffener before riveting to the elevator and rudder skins. Hopefully this will spread vibration and load over a greater area and avoid cracks near the aft rivets. I tried to leave space, but RTV sometimes made its way past the rivet head, so I vigourously cleaned the rivet heads with Acetone to make sure the paint would stick later !
It was 42 deg C today with hot winds ... lucky my garage is relatively cool and thank goodness for the bar fridge !
