I trimmed the aft root fairing, pinned it in place and put a strip of 1/16" foam on the front end to replicate the height adjustment that will happen when I bed the aft section on strips of carbon fibre for edge stiffness. I then layed up several layers of 2/2 twill weave carbon fibre in 200 and 650 gsm until I had the thickness I want.
