I relocated the fuselage into a workable spot, then removed all the internal panels, the fuel and smoke oil lines, the centre torque tube and the chrome-moly wing splice plates so I could remove my temporary wooden blank where the wing spars slide into the centre box. I then cleaned all the old grease out of the centre box, which had accumulated a lot of metal chips and dust over the years. I will need to reapply grease to minimise the chance of metal-to-metal galling as the spars are insterted, or this could lead to stress risers and potential cracking later on.
