While I have the fuselage on the carousel I decided to finish touch-up painting the rivet heads. I did this on the wing and it made the job of smoothing over the rivets a lot easier, but I won't dop-stick in future as that leaves bubbles in the thickest parts of the paint (just like pin holes after smoothing). I don't intend to hide the rivets entirely, but I can avoid domes of paint on the rivet heads and a dams around each rivet caused by the surface tension breaking across the edge as the solvents evaporate out. I will have to make lots of mess smoothing these down with the finger disc later on, but it's worth the effort in my ridiculously pedantic point of view.
