I sanded the sidewall smooth and ground out the landing light mounting hole, then taped and waxed the light itself and squeezed it into a bed of epoxy and Aerosil. While I was at it I replaced some material where I cut slightly too deep at the corner of the lens mount, which will be reshaped as I fit the lens.
