I prep'd and applied two layers of carbon inside the cutout ready to support a thin layer of epoxy and Aerosil to match the cover. While I was at it, I moulded a support flange around the light that I can bond in place behind the face of the cutout. When this all sets, I'll trim and adjust the angle and bond it in place from behind. Thankfully, the nav light is tapered, so the whole module drops in place without it falling through and all I have to do is trim the hole to size to achieve the right depth of fit.
