Tonight, I drilled off the tip of the VS, cut holes through the sides and installed nutserts to fit the VOR antenna base. The whips screw into place, so I will be able to remove them if necessary, but most of the time they will be in situ for VOR/ILS reception through the GTN650. Later I'll mould fibreglass fairings to cover the bases where the mount protrudes from the VS.
