I die ground the deck hole back into the VS brace to make room for the elevator actuator flanges per the plans. I think this will be enough, but I can trim some more later if necessary. While I was at it, I carefully marked and drilled two holes for rivets through the brace, the deck and the upper flange of the aft double-bulkhead (back to back with forward facing and aft facing flanges down the sides).
