I made two new hinge arms for the chock holder covers and set the first cover onto epoxy and Aerosil. Once that sets in the right orientation, I'll radius the epoxy with the die grinder and reinforce with carbon fibre from the hinge to the lid, let that hardnen, then embed soft rivets to strengthen the bond (through both the lid and the hinge arm).
