Brief Description:  Attic Dek Floor (2)

Spent most of the day today finishing the layout of the Attic Dek floor panels, fitting custom pieces around the electrical conduit, and securing the panels to the joists with screws. The 18V Makita battery-powered drill with adjustable torque setting worked wonders on the panel installation, but the process was slowed down quite a bit by the uneven spacing between the joists. (Wherever the joists were not on exactly 16" centers, I had to either chisel out a small notch in the top of the joist or simply break the spacer tabs on the bottom side of the panels.) When most of the panels were installed, I re-positioned the light above the stairs, which required temporarily shutting off the electricity, removing the light fixture, shortening the conduit run to the wall, attaching the electrical box to the wall directly above the stair opening, re-installing the light fixture, and then turning back on the electricity. (An easy fix, but every little bit takes time.)
