Brief Description:  Trim & Debur Inspar Ribs

Since I am still awaiting delivery of the HS-1008 horizontal stabilizer attach brackets from Rivethead-Aero, I could not finish assembling the front spar, so I set it aside and began working on the inspar ribs. First I trimmed the four inner-most ribs per the drawings in the plans, with two of the inspar ribs requiring trimming on 4 flanges, and two only requiring trimming on 2 flanges. Then I began deburring the inspar ribs. This is a slow process, and it's going to take some time. By the end of the evening, I had only succeeded in deburring the four modified inspar ribs. Before I decided to pack it in for the night, I took the two modified ribs with the 4 flanges trimmed (i.e., the inboard ribs on the horizontal stabilizer), and I bent the fore and aft flanges the requisite 9 degrees to match the drawings in the plans. I still have 10 more inspar ribs to debur, along with 8 nose ribs. Oh, joy! I can't wait to tackle these parts tomorrow!!! :-/ Thank God for the Sunday Night Football game playing on my TV in the garage. At least I was able to listen to the game to keep me from going insane tonight. Time for a glass of single malt Scotch. :-)
