Brief Description: Prep & Prime Rear Spar Components
After about a week's break from building, I tagged the parts with tie wraps prior to cleaning so I could remember the orientation once everything was clean and the alignment marks were gone. Then I scrubbed all the aluminum parts down with Alumiprep 33 and a Scotch-Brite pad, rinsed and dried everything, and then re-applied all the alignment marks with a Sharpie pen prior to priming. On the powder coated parts, I skipped the Alumiprep and just scuffed the surfaces with a Scotch-Brite pad, rinsed and dried, and then re-marked the parts. Once everything was prepped, I primed all of the components with Mar-Hyde 5111. I used masking tape on both sides of the flange bearing to keep primer out of the bearing surfaces.
