This afternoon, I began prepping the inside of the skin for primer. First I scrubbed the surface with a Scotch-Brite pad soaked in soapy water. Then I rinsed off the surface with a garden hose, and repeated the process. Once the inside surface was clean and scuffed, I rinsed it one more time and dried it off with compressed air. Then I masked the outside surface with newspaper and masking tape to prevent primer from getting on the outside of the skin. Once everything was masked, I deburred the outside edges with a Vixen file and a flexible sanding block. After deburring, I thoroughly degreased the inside surface with a rag soaked in acetone. Finally I placed the skin in the mini paint set-up and spayed the inside surface with two coats of Mar-Hyde 5111 self-etching primer. Once the primer cures, the skin will be ready to install on the skeleton.
