Today was spent preparing the surfaces of the vertical stabilizer parts for priming. My fingers are literally stiff and sore from rubbing all the surfaces with maroon Scotch-Brite pads. Fortunately, the fine aluminum dust washes off my hands easily with dishwashing soap, and I was wearing a breathing mask to protect my nose and lungs. Below are pics of the shiny, unprepped surfaces and similar parts after they have been scuffed with the Scotch-Brite pads, plus a side-by-side comparison shot. It was a long, boring work session, but I feel like I made good progress.
