Brief Description:  Inventorying Hardware

Inventorying the large hardware bag was much more detailed. This bag contained numerous smaller bags, both plastic and paper, containing thousands of individual pieces of harware, including rivets, screws, washers, nutplates, rod ends, etc. Although Van's instructions say you don't need to count the rivets, you do have to count everything else. So I opened up each of the non-rivet bags, separated all of the different components, and then counted each group. It's a good thing I did, because several bags came up a few items short (e.g., missing firewall grommet, locknuts, washers). However, most of the bags were correctly counted, and some of the item counts exceeded the numbers specified on the inventory list.
