Brief Description:  SportAir Electrical Systems Workshop (2)

Day 2 of the SportAir workshop was excellent. Gordon and I picked up lots of good information about avionics systems (COMM and NAV) and all of the different types of antennas used in homebuilt aircraft. And we both completed an excellent practice project that simulated a typical panel wiring exercise... hookup of exterior and interior lights. They gave us a bag full of individual components (wire, fuse holder, solder, ring connectors, switch, control knob, battery, and fuse) along with a cut-out panel and wiring diagram, and then told us to build the panel. The objective was to make both the exterior and interior lights came on with the same switch, but the interior light was dimmable with the control knob, while the exterior light burned continuously at full power.
