First day of Cleaveland Air Tools construction skills class. Since I bought my tool kit from Cleaveland at Oshkosh, Mike Lauritsen offered the class participation for free. Even though I had already taken a similar class at Grov-Air in Indianapolis back in February, I decided to accept Mike's generous offer for two reasons: (1) to refresh some of the skills I learned at Grov-Air before beginning work on the empennage, and (2) to get some direct, hands-on experience with other Cleaveland tools. The class was taught by Mike, who gave a great presentation on the proper set-up and application of each tool used during the class. Mike is building an RV-10, like me, so his personal tips and advice proved invaluable to me. Annette, another Cleaveland employee, was also a participant, intent on learning first-hand about the products her company was selling and their application in aircraft construction.
