For the rest of the afternoon and evening, I continued working on the toolbox project kit. This was a useful exercise, allowing me to make some construction mistakes on a practice project without damaging the more expensive empennage parts and skins. Couple of lessons learned: (1) be careful when drilling holes next to the vertical side of an adjoining skin, because the side of the drill chuck will quickly scratch the skin, (2) dull drill bits will wander, causing the finished hole to drift away from the marked location. No big deal on a toolbox lid, but a more expensive problem for a vertical stabilizer skin.
