Today I riveted together the freshly primed front spar components (spar, caps, doubler, & attach brackets), attached the stringer/web/inboard rib assembly, and then riveted the remaining inspar ribs in place to form the skeleton of the horizontal stabilizer. Then Gordon came over and helped me buck rivets on all of the middle nose ribs. Afterwards we dropped the skeleton in place, riveted it to the front spar, and attached the skins to the spar, stringers, and inspar ribs with clecos. The next step in the assembly process will be to finish riveting the skins in place. I looked at the rivet layout diagram in the plans and calculated that I have a whopping 886 more rivets to install, so it's going to take a bit more time before the horizontal stabilizer is complete.
