Today I prepped the two skins for priming by scrubbing the inside surfaces with AlumiPrep 33 and a Scotch-Brite pad to remove any oxidation or grease and ensure good adhesion by the primer spray. After rinsing off thoroughly with water from a garden hose, I dried the skins with compressed air, and then wiped the inside surfaces one last time with acetone on a lint-free rag to remove any residual oil transferred from the compressed air. After the skins were thoroughly prepped, I sprayed the inside surfaces with several coats of Mar-Hyde 5111 self-etching primer and let them dry overnight.
