Brief Description: Countersink Spar, Cut Out Ovals, & Prep Skin
I spent most of the day today countersinking the front spar and stringers, which took a lot of time due to the sheer number of rivet holes involved. Then I cut out the oval holes for the rudder cables in the two inside nose ribs using a Unibit mounted in the drill press for the rough cut and a small, Dremel-mounted sanding drum to finish the edges. I also deburred the inside edges of the #40 holes on the flanges of the rear spar. Finally, I marked and removed parallel strips of blue vinyl on one of the skins along the outside edges of the rivet holes in preparation for deburring and dimpling.
