I ordered a gallon of Alumiprep 33 today to facilitate the aluminum cleaning process in preparation for priming. Alumiprep is a phosphoric acid based cleaner, brightener, and pre-paint conditioner for aluminum. It is diluted with water and applied from a spray bottle. Just spray each part down with the diluted Alumiprep solution, scrub with a Scotch-Brite pad, and then wash off with a water hose. I'm looking forward to trying it out on the rudder assembly, which is the next step in the empennage build process.
