Brief Description:  Mounting of Main Rotor Blades

I spent a little time cleaning up the remainder of the adhesive residue from the blade straps. The blades were then mounted to the grips with the 3/8" bolts just finger-tight. I used a couple of lifting brackets that came with an engine hoist cherry picker that I had bought earlier. The brackets mounted to the threaded bores in the top of the aluminum box on the rotor head.

The blades were then easily lifted into position with a small electric chain hoist mounted on a ceiling beam. The yoke caps and bolts were installed in preparation of the lead-lag adjustment. There is very little that I can do with the main rotor system until I get the alignment jig I ordered from the factory. I should be ready for the factory checkout by the middle of August. I still need to mount the governor actuator, the carb heat box and the cabin heat selector box.
