Now that the Dynon EFIS is installed I was able to download and install the software application on an old laptop and then tranfer the newest firmware to the D100.
The entire process went without a hitch (something quite unusual when computers are involved). I did have to install a serial port-to-USB driver on the laptop first. The transfer of the new programming took about 20 minutes. Dynon recommends that you use external power on the laptop during the transfer or you may risk damaging the unit if the computer powers off during the process.
Note about Dynon: I've had two instances where I had to call the factory with a question. In each case a rep called me back within minutes. Great service from technicians who know their product and care about the customer.
