Brief Description: Preparing Switch Panels for drilling
I ordered several hole saws and jobber drills from Enco Tool (http://www.use-enco.com). They have hole saws for the 3 1/8" and 2 1/4" instrument cut-outs as well as a large selection of various sizes drills. When I laser engraved the hole locations, I also placed an index mark at the center of each cut-out to aid in drilling exactly in the center. After the first engraving, I noticed that I had omitted the alternator switch from the electrical portion of the panel. I was able to use a black sharpie to "erase" the markings and then ran the panel back through the laser to re-mark it for drilling. I hope to drill the holes this coming weekend and then take the panels back to work for a strip and re-anodize. I haven't decided if I will send the main panel out for water-jet cutting or if I'll attempt the cutting myself.
