The kit is not provided with a heat selector box for cabin heat. You could use the plans to make a box like the carb heat uses, but is it too large for the space I had available.
I found this small all stainless box at www.Aircraftspruce.com (part number 08-04958). The box is manufactured in Oregon by Aviacomp. It is furnished fully assembled with a silicon gasket for the firewall. The box presented a problem in that it came with 2" flanges instead of 3" needed for the SCEET tubing.
I ended up using reducers. Verocious Motor Sports (www.verociousmotorsports.com) carries a line of high temp. silicon reducers used in racing applications. These reducers made it a simple task to attach the SCEET using 3" diameter alum. tubing inserts.
Note: I replaced all of the SCAT hose furnished with the kit with the hose shown. The SCAT tubing has a thin single ply with the spiral wire exposed on the ID. I found that it punctured easily and was often difficult to fit to some flanges due to the smaller hose ID size. SCEET ducting is reinforced with an inner and outer ply and the ID dimension is slightly larger allowing it to easily slip over the flange. It's seems to be a much more durable product.
