Brief Description:  Installing Exhaust System

After fitting the exhaust sytstem to the motor I noticed that the tail pipe was not centered with the tailboom (photo 2). The cabin heat outlet is also not centered over the inlet flange for the cabin heat (photo 3).

I attempted to straighten the tail pipe by applying heat and gently bending it back to center, but all I accomplished was to crack the weld on the right side of the can. Now I'll have to strip the ceramic coating and have it welded. I plan on adding upper and lower gussets to the base of the tail pipe before having it ceramic coated again. The cabin heat collector should be an easier fix. I'll make a plate to cover the original hole and set the new flange back about 1.25" so the flanges align. I wish I had discovered these problems before I had the parts coated.
