Brief Description:  Routing Engine Lines

I spent most of the day flat on my back under the engine routing and securing the various hoses, wires and sensors that fit to the motor. It can be a challenge to run these leads all the while thinking about how best to protect each one from abrasion, heat and the slip stream.

I'm using a combination of Adel clamps, aluminum line clamps and special zip ties (that secure the item away from the frame tube. See photo #3 below). Under some of the clamps and ties I have used a small band of self-fusing silicon tape to help provide a slip-resistant surface for the clamp. The powder coated frame has a very shiny/slick finish and some of the less "tacky" Adel clamps don't grip very tight. On some of the clamps the cushion seems more like a plastic material than rubber.

Note: The beat up oil filter in the first photo is there just to seal the motor. It came on the new engine but was so tight that I couldn't remove it without damaging it.
