Brief Description:  Engine Valve Cover Modifications

In order to allow the engine to be operated in a vertical position, the valve covers require modification to let the oil drain back to the sump. This involves drilling holes at the proper positions and then cutting and inserting drain tube fittings into the covers. It's important to have a tight fit for the tubes. After drilling the holes to near final dimensions, I used a unibit to "sneak up" on a close fit. This allows the tube to be held by friction instead of a fixture while you braze or weld it into place. I opted to TIG weld from the inside since there is limited clearance on the front of the cover to run a bead.
