Brief Description:  Verification of Blade Rigging

During the rigging of the main blades, it is important that a line strung from the CG point of each blade pass directly through the center of rotation of the rotor head. I had previously strung a mason's line from each CG point and verified that it did indeed appear to cross the exact center point of the head as instructed by the Rigging Manual. I wanted to double check this with a laser line level.

I was able to level the blades with a laser on the rear blade aft of that blade's CG, and then tied down the forward blade to keep the blades level with the weight of the laser on the rear.

I carefully aligned the laser to project the line exactly thru each blades CG. This took a little bit of time because a slight movement of the laser resulted in a large movement at the other end. The laser line seemed to confirm my previous setup with the mason's line. I plan on having the factory double check the rigging and balancing on the initial checkout of the ship in the Spring.
