I needed a method of securing the skid clamps tightly to the trailer deck on long hauls. I ended up drilling safety wire holes in the head of the stainless bolts that will hold the clamps to the trailer. The anchor is a fastener I happened to run across in the hardware store.
One less thing to worry about and a small price to pay to be sure that the bolts stay tight when towing. On my first tow (without skid clamps), I found myself wanting to stop every 10-20 miles to check the ropes.
