I have a total of 11 indicator lamps that need the wire leads soldered unto them. I took the EAA's Electrical Course last year to brush up on some basics and I'm sure that it helped but this type of thing justs takes practice and a real steady hand to do it right. I'll make sure that I test the lamps before they are installed.
After the soldering I went on to install more of the wire bundle supports in the floor of the center console (see photo 3 below). I found these at www.terminaltown.com They come in handy in areas where you can't mount an adel clamp. They are made of nylon and appear to be quite tough.
Update: I checked with another builder who's speciality is electronics. It appears that I have used wire for the indicator leads that is much too large for this application. He gave me some good tips and even furnished me with a circuit diagram for wiring a test function for the indicator lamps. Thanks Bill.
