Brief Description: Adding Fuse Blocks to Instrument Pod
I thought that it may be easier to install a couple of power distribution points in the pod instead of running wire all the way back under the seats. I installed two fuse blocks on the uprights that support the pod. One is for the instruments and the other is for the avionics. Both are controlled by individual switches on the center console. I used a formed alum. angle to provide support for the fuse blocks and wire bundle attach points. It also seems to reduce any vibration transmitted up thru the pod mounting frame tubes.
Not shown is a seperate ground bus mounted between the frame tubes inside the pod. I will wire this back to the main ground bus under the copilots seat. The intent is to have each ground tie into the main aircraft ground bus to avoid ground loops . There will be no equipment grounded to the frame. I took the extra effort to run seperate grounds to the instrument post lights since the alum. instrument panel is anodized and it mounts in a fiberglas housing.
