Brief Description:  Extension for Fuel Shut-off Valve

I decided that I would rather extend the fuel shut-off valve shaft rather than putting it inside a cramped little box in the headboard. Another Safari builder gave me some guidance on how he accomplished this and I found it was not that difficult. The only snag I ran into was turning down the end of the shaft to fit into the control handle. I don't own a mill/lathe, so I rigged up a rasp in my drill press vice and slowly and gently fed the file into the turning shaft by advancing the vice position. A few checks with a set of calipers was all that was needed to hit the final size. A flat spot must be filed into the shaft so it will fit into the handle and threads must be tapped for the retention screw.
