I found that installing the skids was much easier if the cabin was tilted up as shown in photo 3 below. I first determined the proper positioning of the skid brackets with the skids installed as shown in photo #1. I then placed a few hundred pounds of dead weight in the cab and on the engine mount to simulate the weight of the installed motor. I then drilled the outboard holes into the skids for the brackets and inserted a bolt to prevent shifting. The skids and mounts were then removed, and the remaining holes were drilled.
