Brief Description:  Installing Floating Nutplates

I spent the rest of Saturday and most of Sunday drilling for, and installing, nutplates on the frame tabs. This work goes pretty slow unless you use several drill motors with the various bits required. In the first photo I have laid out the required tools. The top blue drill has a #19 bit for the fastener hole. The air drill has a #40 bit for the rivets and the yellow drill is equipped with a micro-adjustable countersink. The needle nose pliers are used to hold the rivets while dipping in the primer just before installation. The rivet gun is necessary in areas where the rivet squeezer won't fit. I also discovered that the 2 basic bucking bars that I have are not adequate. There are many places (especially close to tubing members) where a standard bucking bar will not fit.
