Brief Description:  Construction of Switch Console

I decided to make the console wide enough to house a standard instrument and slightly taller at the front to provide easier access to controls and switches. Since I plan on installing an EFIS unit (Dynon D100) in the main instrument pod, I needed enough room in the switch console for two of the Safari "Quad" gauges. Instead of using the supplied 6061 alum. extrusion to mount the console to the floor, I chose to use 2" wide 7075 extruded angle approx. 1/8" thick. This may seem to be overkill, but I wanted to be sure that the console was adequately mounted to avoid any "instrument blur" due to vibrations passed thru the console to the pod. The right side of the console will be secured with nutplates/screws and I intend to trim off some of the height of the 2" angle on the right side to provide unobstructed access.
