Building the elevator cables was a challenge. First I ran string from the control yoke to the elevator horns. The string was used to determine how long to build the cables. I installed the trunbuckles at the yoke and the shackles at the horn. I crimped the cabes using a hand tool. All bolts on the shackles used caste nuts with cotterpins. The turnbuckle was safety wired per the FAA guide. The cables were tensioned per the plans.
