Brief Description:  Helping hand from dad

My dad, Bill Schroder, came to stay at our house for a week to help get me started. Dad was a segeant in the Air Force and worked on the B47s as well as taught classes on maintaining them. He was more than willing to help get me kick started. We spent the week preparing the work space, buying tools, and working on finishing the right wing. Note: the left wing was already completed by Steve Mottin sans the strobe light.

We moved the work tables, tools and unfinished right wing to the basement where it was air conditioned.

First step was to study the instruction manual for completing the wing. In addition I ordered and had received the lighting kit, so we studied the instructions for it and decided the landing light and strobe lights should be installed prior to sealing off the wing skin since wires would need to be ran. At least in the right wing we still could get to the middle if a wire got stuck, whereas on the left wing that is already skinned we would have to rely on pulling it through with the string Steve had previously installed.

Our first project was to work on installing the landing light, so first step was to cut the hole and drill the screw holes in the leading edge of the right wing.
