The engine was purchased from a man in Utah, originally this engine was installed in a Sonerai with reported flight times of 200 hours. I have no documentation to support such claim. The engine was removed and replaced with a larger engine as the owner felt the increased horsepower rating of the new engine would afford a better saftey margin as he operated from a field in Utah elevation 6,500 feet. After the owner replaced the Hapi 1835cc VW engine with a 2180cc VW engine he said the cost did not equal the horsepower gain and wished he had not done the swap.
This engine is a HAPI 1835 cc engine single port heads, no ignition system came with the engine, however it did come with a Zenith updraft mixture adjustable carburator. Purchase price $1,000.00
