Brief Description:  Fitting canopy and reaming spar pin holes

With much advice from Tech advisor Jim Pyle the spar pin holes were reamed to 3/8 so the spar pins fit each hole properly. The holes in the wings were also reamed to 3/8. The other challenge of the day was the poor fit of the canopy. The frame was about 1 centimeter too wide at both the fore and aft postiions. Forcing the latches into the slots placed too much side pressure preventing the latch from sliding into place. I very carefully removed the acrylic from the canopy frame. Then I bent the fore and aft bows so they were spaced correctly. Then I carefully replaced the acrylic on the canopy frame and installed all of the fasteners. Whew! Now it opens and closes "per the drawing"nnow all that is required is a little judicious filing to make the latch fit better. Monday we pulol the plane out of the hangar to install the wings testing the placement of the spar pin holes. WE'RE GETTING CLOSE!
