Brief Description:  Plug Wires, RDAC, Engine Start

Derek 8.0 Phil 8.0

After spending the morning at the airport watching David Clay's Sonex first flight, we ate lunch and then got started preperation for our first engine start

Rerouting of plug wires, double checking connections and wire routing. Had to go to Radio Shack to get a new DB-9 subconnector to make a harness of wires going to power the RDAC and sending signals back to the EMS

After getting that hooked up we were able to install the gas tank and put gas through the lines to the Aeroinjector.

Brad advised us not to crank on the engine for more than 30 seconds at a time... That was no biggie because the engrine fired in about 1 second on the first attempt! ! It sounded great and ran smoothly. Not getting proper readings yet on the engine instruments because that hasn't been calibrated. Also engine developed 2 minor oil leaks that need to be addressed but not expected to be an issue.

Between David's first flight and our engine coming to life, it was a very exciting day!
